Travel & Packing Tips for Passengers
Passengers are encouraged to take a few minutes to prepare before coming to the airport. Knowing the I.D. requirements and other security restrictions ahead of time will help you save time at the airport.
How soon should I be at the airport before my flight departs?
Travellers within Canada are encouraged to get to the airport no later than one hour prior to departure time.
What kind of I.D. do I need to board a flight within Canada?
Transport Canada has introduced a Passenger Protect program that includes changes to ID requirements for passengers flying within Canada and a Specified Persons List of individuals who may pose an immediate threat to aviation security, should they board a flight. Please visit the Transport Canada website at www.passengerprotect.gc.ca for more information, to ensure you have everything you need before you get here.
What can I pack in my carry-on and checked luggage?
Wondering what you can pack in your carry-on and checked luggage? To get through passenger security screening faster, just follow these helpful packing tips provided by the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority. Visit the Pack Smart section of their website at www.catsa.gc.ca.
Please ensure that you check with the airline you are flying with to find out about their baggage allowance, extra baggage costs, acceptable carry-on baggage sizes and checked luggage weight restrictions.
